Opportunity for Change: Mercy Center Foundation USA, through the footprint of Mercy Center Lare, intends to make lasting changes in the health of the Lare community. We are assessing the underlying behaviors and environmental factors that contribute to illness and disease. We will focus our resources where they are needed most.

Medical Clinic: Our facility is staffed with a clinic officer, nurse and administrative staff; it offers laboratory and pharmacy services, as well. Treatment will include patient history, an examination, lab tests for proper diagnosis, dispensing of need medication and/or vaccines and when warranted. Referral and transportation to the nearest public hospital for follow-up care.

Challenges: HIV/TB education and treatment, development of a needs assessment for remote health care, recruitment of partners and development of outreach programs for the extended population have been initiated.

An Invitation: The key to the success of Mercy Center Foundation's involvement in Lare, Kenya will be the establishment of significant relationships and partnerships with other institutions who desire to bring hope and healing to the people of Lare. We are currently engaged in discussions with both health and educational institutions; we openly invite dialogue with others who share our vision.
